Impact
Coral spawning has been observed in the laboratory at the NUS Tropical Marine Science Institute. Pink bundles of sperm and eggs released by the corals combine in the water to produce larvae, which could eventually settle on suitable substrate to form new corals. This is a result of conservation efforts to nurture lab-grown corals for research and the aquarium trade.
Research
The Singapore Academy of Law has set aside more than $1.4 million to provide scholarships to students from Singapore’s three law schools, including NUS Law. These scholarships ensure that no student is deprived of an opportunity to study law due to an inability to finance their studies.
